Testimonials
"I first encountered Chris as a guest lecturer in my writing course, and I was immediately taken with his studious, craftsman-like approach to writing fiction. He went on to teach four full terms of the course, where he helped improve my writing profoundly. When it was time for me to find an editor for my own manuscript, he was the first person I called. He provided detailed, thoughtful and vital notes on the language, structure and character consistently, which were invaluable to the work."
— Oli Davis, former student and writer of the forthcoming Hear Rational
"Chris is a very thoughtful teacher and I have leant a huge amount from him. His editorial feedback is always thorough and considered. I’m always impressed with how generous he is with his time and care when it comes to feedback. Whether it’s structural feedback or precise line edits, Chris always gives very insightful comments. No matter the genre or style of the work he’s feeding back on, he provides great suggestions on how to communicate more clearly. I’ve loved working with Chris and value the time and thought he’s given me to improve my work. He also gives exceptional book recommendations. I don’t think I’ve met another writer who reads as much as Chris."
— Lizzie Hubbard, writer and former student
